Historical Description of the Vessel

The Oliver Hazard Perry-class frigates were designed for the United States Navy as modern escort ships intended for convoy protection, carrier battle group support, and anti-submarine and air defense roles. The first ship of this class entered service in 1977, and the vessels from this series were used by the US Navy as well as the navies of Australia, Turkey, Spain, Taiwan, Egypt, and Poland ("General Kazimierz Pułaski" and "General Tadeusz Kościuszko").
