Hobby 2000 48020 F-8E Crusader "MIG Killers" 1/48 – Plastic Model Kit

The Hobby 2000 48020 F-8E Crusader "MIG Killers" model in the popular 1/48 scale is a faithfully reproduced miniature of one of the most iconic naval fighter aircraft of the 20th century. The "MIG Killers" version allows you to replicate the famous aircraft of American pilots who achieved aerial victories over Soviet MiGs during the Vietnam War.

The F-8E Crusader was designed and produced by the American company Chance Vought (later Vought) as a carrier-based supersonic fighter, mainly intended for the US Navy and US Marine Corps. The prototype first flew in 1955, and mass production began in 1957. The aircraft was used extensively during the second half of the 1950s, the 1960s, and the Vietnam War ("Cold War"). The RF-8 Crusader ultimately ended its service with the French Air Force only in 1999.

The F-8 Crusader's design became famous as "The Last of the Gunfighters"—the last American fighter whose main armament consisted of guns (aircraft cannons). The "MIG Killers" kit allows you to build a model from the era of air combat in Vietnam.
