The Academy 12607 PANAVIA TORNADO 200 in 1/144 scale is a faithful replica of one of the most recognizable multirole aircraft of the second half of the 20th century. This model represents the Panavia Tornado aircraft, developed as a result of a defense collaboration between the United Kingdom, West Germany, and Italy. Variants of this aircraft were widely used by the air forces of these three nations – the RAF (Royal Air Force), Luftwaffe, and Aeronautica Militare Italiana.

The Panavia Tornado is a family of twin-engine fighter-bomber combat aircraft, renowned for their variable-sweep wing design. Developed in the 1970s during the Cold War era, their versatility enabled them to take part in numerous military conflicts – including Operation Desert Storm in the Middle East in 1991 and various air missions in Afghanistan. The three main variants are IDS (Interdictor/Strike), ECR (Electronic Combat/Reconnaissance), and ADV (Air Defence Variant).
