Historical description: The Miles M.38 Messenger was developed in the early 1940s in response to the British Army’s demand for a light and reliable liaison and observation aircraft. Thanks to a unique triple-tail design and wings equipped with retractable flaps, it performed excellently at very low speeds – it could fly even at a stall speed of 25 miles per hour!

The Messenger Mk.I was used as an air command aircraft, for observation duties, as well as a liaison platform on the Western Front at the end of World War II. Production continued until 1948, after which these planes were handed over to civilian users.
