The Northrop F-5A Freedom Fighter was one of the most important light fighter jets of the Cold War, designed in the late 1950s as an affordable, efficient, and easy-to-operate combat aircraft for the USA's allied nations. It began its service with the United States Air Force, but was soon adopted by many countries in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, where it earned a reputation as a reliable machine with excellent combat and maneuverability characteristics.

This aircraft participated in many local conflicts, including during the Vietnam War and Middle Eastern clashes, proving itself in both air-to-air and air-to-ground combat missions. The F-5A was known for its high speed (up to 1700 km/h), great maneuverability, and resistance to damage.

The Italeri model guarantees an accurate reproduction of details such as armament (20 mm cannons), cockpit, and airframe components. With the included decals, you can choose the markings used by various NATO air forces. This model is ideal for enthusiasts of 20th-century military aviation and collectors of Cold War-era fighter aircraft models.
