Historical Information

The Saab 35 Draken is a famous Swedish interceptor featuring a distinctive double-delta wing, produced by Saab from 1955 to 1974. The 35ÖE/35FS variants were used by the air forces of Austria and Finland. The 35ÖE model became the backbone of Austria's air defense from 1987, while the 35FS played a significant role in the Finnish Air Force (Ilmavoimat) from 1972 until the early 21st century. The Draken participated in numerous NATO exercises and patrol missions during the Cold War, providing air security for neutral countries amidst the dominance of USSR and NATO forces.
